I'm here to journey with you.
Inside each of us is the capacity to heal. When we are out of alignment with who we truly are, we feel lost, disconnected, and alone. It's painful. The listening and presence of a caring “other” can help us reconnect to our Inner Knowing, the Wise Self that is always within us, guiding us toward healing.
I will seek to understand your experience. Together we will shine light on your Inner Knowing--your access to healing.
I work with:
•Relationship issues
•Transition
•Shame
•Depression & Anxiety
•Feelings of Worthlessness
•Unresolved Trauma
•Loss
•Attachment Trauma
I am attachment-based, which means that I invite you to explore how you connect with others in your life. I work to create a collaborative, trusting therapeutic relationship and to be attentive to what my clients are communicating. I may invite you to explore your emotions, the meanings you attribute to them, and the way you interact in your relationships. I may bring in mindfulness practices, artistic work, or play, depending upon your needs.
COUPLES
Conflict in our primary relationship is deeply distressing. It can feel like a threat to our very survival. When we're in survival mode we interact with each other in ways that keep us locked in a destructive dance. I can help you unravel the cycle you and your partner engage in and find new ways to understand each other--new ways to connect.
ABOUT LAURIE TUCHEL:
As a 73 year old woman I'm familiar with loss, transition, aging, and the impact of complex trauma on one's biography. As a former Waldorf educator and parent educator, I feel comfortable working with children and teens of all ages, as well as with the challenges of parenting.
I worked in Waldorf Education for 30 years, from Kindergarten through high school. During that time I trained in Nurturing Arts, Collaborative Counseling, and Simplicity Parenting. I created a social and emotional support program in the school which addressed bullying and teasing, as well as adult conflict. I worked as a high school Academic Counselor, guiding students and their families through the 504 process for learning differences and helping students with strategies for strengthening executive function and organization.
I received my MFT degree at the University of San Francisco in May, 2021, after which I worked at the Lomi Clinic in Santa Rosa for two years with clients of all ages and with couples. I have since trained in EFT and EFIT, CSRT, and IFS.
